Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Hot and humid weather is here to stay as we kick off a new week.
Sunday afternoon Columbia hit 99° degrees but we got some relief from the heat as showers and storms produced lots of rain in portions of the Midlands.
A flash flood warning was issued late Sunday afternoon for Richland County and parts of Columbia did receive some flooding rains.
Labor Day will be hot once again with highs in the upper 90s but with humidity it will feel like 105 degrees by the afternoon. We may see an isolated shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon to cool us off.
Tuesday will be hot too with high temperatures in the middle to upper 90s with heat index values once again in the triple digits. An isolated shower or thunderstorm is likely during the afternoon.
A front is expected to be approach the area by Wednesday and it may linger in the area through Thursday giving us a slightly better chance at rain.
