Hotter Temperatures And Worse Humidity Levels Are Back

Columbia, SC (WLTX) We are expecting the hottest temperatures of our Midlands summer today.

Three features that will controlling our weather: A strong area of high pressure over Bermuda will continue to push tropical warm, moist air into the Southeast. Another area of high pressure in The Gulf of Mexico will continue to drive more tropical moisture into The Deep South. The warm airmass will stay in The South and Southeast with a stationary front extended along I-40 from NC to TN and keep the warm air stuck over us.

With plenty of sunshine today, high temperatures will reach the upper 90s with heat index values getting into the low 100s. There is a slight chance for a late afternoon shower or storm, but this activity will be limited throughout The Midlands.

The hot and humid weather conditions are forecasted to continue into this weekend.
