Hurricane Matthew Shifts Slightly; Still Threat to SC Coast

COLUMBIA, SC (WLTX)-- Hurricane Matthew has shifted slightly Wednesday morning according to the National Hurricane Center.

Hurricane Matthew is currently a category 3 storm and is expected regain strength as a category storm 4 Thursday.

As the hurricane continues to move closer to the Florida/Georgia coast line, the storm is expected to weaken to a category 2 storm.

As of Wednesday morning, Hurricane Matthew is not moving as quickly as in previous models. The threat to the South Carolina coast line is still imminent.

The National Hurricane Center is predicting that the storm will impact our state early Saturday morning and move off of the coast by Sunday.
