Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The heat and humidity will continue Sunday. High temperatures will be in the lower 90s during the afternoon.
The weekend started off dry and hot. Temperatures climbed into the lower and middle 90s for most of the Midlands. The Columbia airport had a high temperature of 95 degrees.
Sunday will be partly cloudy and hot. There will be a chance for some isolated showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon as a weak front approaches the area.
There will be more chances of showers and storms Monday as the front stalls and more moisture moves into the area. Temperatures will be a little cooler with the clouds and rain. Look for highs in the middle to upper 80s.
The small chance for rain will continue through Thursday, but by the end of the workweek the chances for showers will end.
