Lawsuit Against Ex-Columbia Police Chief on Hold

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The civil suit against former Columbia Chief of Police Randy Scott is on hold.

In a motion filed Thursday, attorneys for both fired Columbia Police Deputy Chief for Administration Isa Greene and Former Chief Scott asked the court to postpone mediation, until a judge decides whether the case can go to trial. Previous Coverage: Isa Greene Sues Police Chief, City

This all stemmed from the case of missing South Carolina Hospitality Association President Tom sponseller more than two years ago. After 10 days of searching, Sponseller's body was found in the parking garage of his office building.

Greene was terminated after Scott said that she did not handle the Sponseller investigation properly. However, Greene says she was out of town during the first 48 hours of the investigation.

The suit against Scott and the city includes what she calls "years of race and gender discrimination."
