Lexington, SC (WLTX)-- A special election to fill the vacant Lexington County Coroner position will take place Tuesday.
Seven candidates are running for the job. They are Frank Barron, Clay Burkett, Margaret Fisher, Jay Phillips, Andrew C. Richburg, Brian Setree and Jason L. Willoughby.
All of the candidates are Republicans. No Democrats have filed for the seat.
The winner will take over for Harry Harman who died in April at the age of 79. He had served as the county's coroner since 1977.
He was re-elected in 2012, and his term was set to expire in 2016.
Earl Wells is serving as interim coroner until a winner is named.
The polls will be open from 7am-7pm on Tuesday.
