Man Accused of Giving Fake Rides to USC Students Arrested in Florida

This isn't the first time Kaloti has ran in with the law. Back in October, he was arrested in Newberry County for possession of marijuana, obtaining goods under false, pretense and giving false information. Earlier this year, he was charged with battery

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The University of South Carolina Police Department has received confirmation that 28-year-old Farris Kaloti was arrested in Florida Thursday afternoon.

Kaloti was arrested by the Pinecrest Department on an outstanding assault warrant unrelated to an incident involving USC students.

According to USC police, Kaloti gave a ride to two female students, but took them to the wrong location.

Officers say after driving the women to the wrong location, he refused to let them out of the car.

Columbia police say the man left one of the women with scrapes and bruises after he tried to prevent her from leaving the car.

USC said he's not affiliated with the university, but has been known to be around the campus.
