Man Dies After Running Stop Sign in Orangeburg

Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) - A man is dead after running a stop sign Saturday afternoon.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at the intersection of SC 70 and Schillings Bridge Road at approximately 12:50 p.m.

The driver of a 2004 Nissan Altima was traveling west on SC 70 as the driver of a 1979 Volkswagen convertible disregarded a stop sign while traveling South on Schillings Bridge Road.

The two cars collided and the man in the Volkswagen died as a result.

The driver of the Nissan was wearing a seatbelt.

It is still unclear whether or not the driver of the Volkswagen was wearing a seatbelt.

This incident is still under investigation.
