The killing happened after an argument in the parking lot.

Saluda County, SC (WLTX) - Two men are in jail after an argument turned deadly in Saluda County.

It happened just before 8 p.m. Monday at a Circle K gas station in Ridge Spring.

Deputies say the victim, Schanen Termaine Samules, got into an argument with Gregory Slaton and Lamar Shannon in the parking lot the convenience store. One of the suspects then got into a car and ran into Samuels, killing him. The second suspect then got into the car and drove away.

At the time of the incident, other people were standing near Samules.

Two Ridge Spring volunteer firefighters were in the gas station when the incident happened, and followed the suspects. Officers say the suspects drove into a wooded area, got out of the car, and ran into the woods.

Shannon was arrested a short time later after the county dog team, and a SLED helicopter joined the search. Slaton turned himself in at the Ridge Spring Fire Department.
