Man Pleads for Help After Dog, Pickup Truck are Stolen

Springdale, SC (WLTX) - A man is asking for the public's help to find his dog and his pickup truck after both were stolen while he went inside a convenience store.

Springdale Police Chief Kevin Cornett says the victim went to the Circle K on Airport Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Cornett says the man didn't lock the vehicle and left it running.

In those few moments while he was inside, someone jumped in the truck and drove off with it. The man's two-year-old labrador retriever, Sandy, was inside the vehicle as well.

The female dog has yellowish-brown eyes and was wearing a red collar with paw prints. The dog's front toe nails are painted red.

The vehicle is a while 2006 Ford F-150. Officers say the suspect also made off with three guns that were in the pickup.

Cornett said there's no helpful surveillance video from the store itself.

"Based on what we have at the scene, we don't have a lot to go on," Cornett said.
