Armed Robber Ends Up Getting Shot by Victim, Police Say

The suspect got into a fight with a 60-year-old man, and during the struggle, the suspect was shot twice.

Columbia police say a 22-year-old man was shot twice Tuesday morning while attempting an armed robbery in north Columbia.

Joshua Tyler Bradley, 22, is charged with first degree assault and battery, attempted armed robbery, and pointing and presenting a firearm.

Police say Bradley got into a fight with a 60-year-old man shortly after 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 5800 block of Koon Road in North Columbia. During the struggle, police say Bradley pointed a gun at the victim and then punched him in the head while demanding money. The two then struggled over the gun and the victim shot Bradley in the leg twice, according to police. 

Bradley received medical attention for his non-life threatening injuries, according to investigators.

Investigators say charges are not expected to be filed against the victim at this time.
