Midlands Rapper Celebrates 'SODA' With Album Release Party

News 19's Deon Guillory talks to Columbia Rapper Cole Connor about his solo album, Soda and his musical influences.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A Midlands rapper is ready to take things to the next level.

To celebrate the release of Cole Connor's album "SODA", Czar Records has put together an album release party for Thursday, December 1st at The New Brookland Tavern, featuring live performances by FatRat Da Czar, Grand Royal and newcomer to the Columbia scene, Dynamic. The New Brookland Tavern is located at 122 State St, West Columbia, SC. Doors open at 8pm and showtime is 9pm. Entry is $8.

SODA stands for "Sometimes Our Dreams Align."
 
"Columbia has embraced me and really shaped me as a man", says Cole, who grew up in the small town of Dalzell in Sumter County.
 
Cole says people can expect honesty when they hear the album. 
 
Cole adds, "It's a project inspired by the SODA, inspired by Columbia, so honesty would be that main word." 
 
The album has 10 tracks and features collaborations with Folk-Hop Band 'Colorblind' and Hip-Hop Collective 'New Success Culture'.
 
Connor is also a member of 'New Success Culture'.
