More Unseasonably Warm Weather

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Temperatures Sunday will be in the middle to upper 80s under sunny skies.

Saturday was a sunny and warm start to the weekend. High temperatures hit the lower and middle 80s. The Columbia airport had a high of 84 degrees.

Even warmer temperatures are expected for Sunday with high temperatures in the middle to upper 80s. Westerly winds will keep it quite dry with low humidity levels. The record high for Sunday is 88° set in 1984.

The dry weather is expected to continue into next week even with another cold frontal passage on Monday. Near-record high temperatures are expected for Halloween. The record high for December 31 is 88° set in 1950.

It will be warm and dry for the trick-or-treaters. Temperatures will back off a little for the middle of next week with high temperatures in the low 80s.

Another cold front is expected to pass through the Midlands Friday morning. There is considerable uncertainty as to whether there will be any rain. Some of the computer models are projecting a chance for rain while others are not. This is something that will be monitored over the next several days.

A cool down is expected with highs in the lower to middle 70s by next weekend.

Note: Right now no freezing temperatures are expected over the next two weeks.
