Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Justin Bethel, a Columbia native and Pro Bowl Cornerback for the Arizona Cardinals has been in town all week and has spent most of his time giving back to the community.
Bethel played for Blythewood High School and was also on the All Defensive team for the Big South Conference while playing for Presbyterian College.
Thursday he spent time with students that are in Big Brother Big Sisters of Columbia program playing gamest Frankie's Fun Park.
"Sometimes people forget to come home and take care of the people they grew up with so I just want to take this chance and come back and help all the people that I can, talk to these kids, go to the hospitals and all of that, I think it really helps those kids out. It helps me, I enjoy it and I am fortunate enough that I am able to do it all," said Bethel.
Bethel played games with the students and even signed some autographs. He says despite being in the NFL, every athlete should take time out and give back to those in the communities that they grew up in.
Earlier this week he visited patients at Palmetto Health Children's Hospital.
