Oliver Gospel Needs Your Help

Wayne Fields asks the public to help the hungry this season.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The Oliver Gospel Mission needs your help today to feed families during the upcoming holiday.

The mission is still looking for turkey donations to go into the Thanksgiving boxes they prepare for families in need. The mission is short 143 frozen turkeys as of 4:30 Monday afternoon.

Wayne Fields of the Oliver Gospel Mission said early Monday, "Come to our rescue. You've done that in the past. Between now and tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon, we need 300 turkeys. That is what our need is now."

The are asking for 10-12 pound frozen turkeys. If you can help, the mission is located at 1100 Taylor Street in Columbia, or mail the mission a donation of $35 per box. You can mail the donation to P.O. Box 7697, Columbia, S.C. 29202.

Donations are tax-deductible. The boxes will be distributed on November 19.
