One Dead After Overnight Shooting in Myrtle Beach Resort

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -One person is dead after an early morning shooting Thursday in Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach Police Spokesperson David Knipes says that the police were called around 2:30 this morning to the Wave Rider Resort located along the 1600 block of South Ocean Blvd.

The male victim was dead upon arrival. Horry County Coroner Robert Edge identifies the victim as Randy Banks, 49, from Myrtle Beach. He died from a gunshot wound. The autopsy will be done at MUSC Friday.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department arrested Robert Ware in connection with the shooting. No time yet for his bond hearing.

This is not the first shooting at the Wave Rider Resort: over Memorial Weekend this year, a man and women were injured in a shooting at that resort.
