'Operation Hydration' Offers More than just Water to Community

Forward City Church held their second annual 'Operation Hydration' on Sunday.

COLUMBIA, SC - (WLTX) -- A church in the Midlands decided to devote their Sunday to giving back to the community.

Forward City Church held their second annual Operation Hydration Sunday afternoon. The church worked to pass out 1,000 bottles of water. They went to various areas throughout the midlands to accomplish the task. These areas included Finley Park, Five Points and The Vista.

“We’re really reaching out and taken the church outside of the four walls which is what the church is about,” said Grammy award nominated musician Travis Greene, who founded the church with his wife last year. “It’s about a group of people that are in love with God and want to see his love spread throughout the world.”

Greene is also one of the pastors at the church and hopes the operation puts smiles on people’s faces while letting people know that they matter.

“Letting them know that they’re not overlooked, they’re not forgotten, they maybe unreachable to some but they’re still within the reach of God so that’s what we’re trying to do out here,” the pastor said.

The church will be celebrating their one year anniversary next Sunday at the Columbia Convention Center at 10:00 AM.
