Parking Employee Bitten by Snake in Columbia

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A parking enforcement monitor in Columbia was bitten by a copperhead snake while on the job.

A city spokesperson says last Tuesday, the employee was on a sidewalk at the intersection of Washington and Sumter Strest when the animal bit her.

The woman was given anti-venom serum and is expected to make a full recovery.

Copperheads are a common snake in the area, but are usually found in wooded or swampy areas.
