Search for Missing Man in Saluda River to Resume Saturday

Citing safety concerns, search crews have suspended their search for a missing man in the Saluda river.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia firefighters say the search for a missing man believed to have gone under in the Saluda River will resume Saturday.

Fire officials announced around 9:45 p.m. Friday that the search was called off for the night.

Around 6 p.m., firefighters got a call that a man had gone under the water in the Saluda River not far from where it flows past the Riverbanks Zoo.

Crews have not yet said whether the man was swimming or boating on the waterway.
