Columbia, SC (WLTX) - More dry and sunny weather on the way for the start of the workweek.
Sunday the area enjoyed fall-like blue skies and comfortable humidity levels. High temperatures were in the middle and upper 80s, but it still felt pretty good outside even with the heat.
The pleasant weather will continue into the morning hours of Monday. Monday morning low temperatures may fall into the lower and middle 60s. A treat for this time of the year.
Columbia's temperature has not dropped into the 60s since June 29. Our average low for this time of the year is 72 degrees. The record low for Monday is 58° set in 1936.
Low temperatures may remain slightly below normal through Wednesday morning, but the humidity will slowly return. Sunny skies are expected through Tuesday with highs in the lower 90s for most of the week. A few more clouds are possible Wednesday and Thursday.
Then the rain chance will return Friday through Sunday as another cold front approaches the area. Scattered showers and storms are expected Friday and Saturday. High temperatures will be in the middle and upper 80s with the clouds and the chance for rain.
