Newberry, SC (WLTX) On May 23, 2014, an early afternoon call resulted in deputies and investigators responding to a home invasion that occurred on S.C. Highway 395 in Newberry.
Deputies responded to this location and found that the residents were at home asleep when they were awakened by loud noise and forced entry of their home. The residents described the individuals as three black male subjects in masks. One of the residents was pulled from his bed and assaulted while the other managed to escape through the window of his locked bedroom and run for help.
The escaped resident was able to call for law enforcement. The subjects assaulted a resident, ransacked the home, stole multiple items of property, and had left in a tan colored type vehicle.
The follow up Investigation revealed the identities of the three subjects involved and subsequently, warrants were issued for their arrests. The subjects are:
Rashawn Marquese Miller, 23, of Kershaw, was charged and arrested for Assault & Battery- 1st Degree, Strong Armed Robbery, and Burglary- 1st Degree.
Rison Aikeem Jackson, 26, of North Augusta, S.C. was charged and arrested for Assault & Battery- 1st Degree, Strong Armed Robbery, Burglary- 1st Degree, and Kidnapping.
Andrew Khiry Ward, 22, of Newberry, S.C. was charged and arrested for Assault & Battery- 1st Degree, Strong Armed Robbery, Burglary- 1st Degree, and Kidnapping.
The investigation has revealed that the one or more of the victims may have been somewhat familiar with one or more of the subject(s) as they had attended college together.
