Police: Two Found Shot to Death in Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WLTX) - The Richland County Coroner says a shooting Friday morning that left two people dead is an apparent murder-suicide..

Columbia Chief Skip Holbrook says shortly before 6:00 a.m., officers got a call reporting "loud pops" at the intersection of North Main and Sunset. We're also told an officer already in the area was flagged down and alerted to the situation.

Holbrook says when officers arrived, they found two people dead - one male and one female. Both had gunshot wounds.

According to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts, all evidence available at this time points to this incident being one of murder-suicide.

The Columbia Police Department will continue to investigate the incident.
