Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The chance for rain will return to the area Thursday. More showers and storms are expected for the next several days.
We have enjoyed some dry, pleasant weather over the last few days. Low temperatures have been below normal, high temperatures have been slightly below normal, and the air has been unseasonably dry.
Rain chances are returning to the area Thursday, and it looks like the weather will be unsettled over the next several days.
Moisture will begin to increase overnight and into Thursday as a system approaches from the southwest. Thursday will be mostly cloudy. There will be a chance for showers and storms during the afternoon and evening hours.
The severe weather threat appears to be low, but storms that do develop, could produce locally heavy rainfall.
The chance for showers and storms will continue into Friday as another disturbance approaches from the southwest. Friday will be mostly cloudy and there will be more chances for showers and storms.
The weekend weather will remain unsettled. This time it will be because of a cold front approaching from the northwest. That front will bring us more opportunities for rain.
The front may become stationary and hang around the area beginning Sunday. The chance for showers and storms will continue during the second half of the weekend.
High temperatures Thursday through Sunday will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Low temperatures will return into the lower 70s.
