Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Three Richland County Recreation Commission members are defending their board position from Governor Nikki Haley's decision to remove them.
Haley's accusing them of three things surrounding mismanagement, ignoring nepotism and employee complaints about sexual harassment and intimidation.
Chairwoman Marie Green and board member Barbara Mickens were both defensive and non-apologetic during the almost three hour long hearing.
Thomas Clark maintained that he started this year and has nothing to do with the allegations. He said some of the RCRC staff asked him to stay and be their voice but Clark says he'll respect the Governor's decision.
Of the seven member board, four of them have resigned after the investigation started. Joseph Weeks being the last one to do on Wednesday by not showing up to defend his position on the board.
The panel is now going to make a recommendation to the Governor and she will decide to keep them on the board or take them off.
