"Star Wars' Music to Set the Scene For Next Years Eclipse

Columbia, SC (WLTX) By now you have probably heard that Columbia will be the place to see next year's eclipse.

The solar eclipse, which is scheduled to happen on August 21, 2017, will be seen all over the United States but only as a partial eclipse.  Columbia will be one of a handful of cities that will see the total solar eclipse, according to the SC State Museum's website.

A matinee concert of Star Wars saga music will be presented by the South Carolina Philharmonic with what the symphony is touting as being directed by Jedi Conductor Morihiko Nakahara.

The Star Wars Musiclipse, as it is being called by the symphony, is a family friendly concert to be held at the Koger Center for the Arts  at 3:30 PM. the day before the eclipse on August 20 2017.

The concert program is said to draw from the entire saga of movies,  beginning with The Phantom Menace, through the original trilogy of the story and up to 2015 The Force Awakens.

Those who attend are encouraged to wear Star Wars related costumes.
