Boil Water Advisory Issued for Some in West Columbia

West Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Officials with the City of West Columbia announced a boil water advisory for some neighborhoods in West Columbia, and they say a broken fire hydrant is to blame.

Officers say a traffic accident resulted in a broken fire hydrant on Airport Boulevard.

Officials say the boil water advisory is in effect for residents who live on Mobile Avenue, Baywater Drive, Boston Avenue, Durham Drive, Lakewood Drive, Lee Circle, Lownesdale Drive, Mobile Avenue, Palo Verde Drive, Pine Croft Drive, Pompeii Place, Swannanoa Drive, Westmoreland Drive and Woodhurst Lane.

They say to boil any water for a full minute before use.
