Streets Empty, Sandbags Up in Charleston

Sonia Gutierrez reports from the city.

Charleston, SC (WLTX) - The normally bustling town of Charleston is far emptier, as people have largely left the area or gone inside due to Hurricane Matthew.

There were a few people still hanging around or jogging Friday morning, but for the most part, people are not out and about.

The city has essentially closed down, as the area is expected to get a significant impact from the storm, possibly even having landfall in the area. Dangerous storm surge and flooding rains are expected from late Friday through most of Saturday.
