Columbia, SC (WLTX) A plan to replace a bridge in Sumter County has been delayed.
According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), the bridge on Tearcoat Branch Road was scheduled to close on July 14, however it was delayed 4 weeks due to the urgency of other construction projects in the district.
The bridge is now scheduled to close on August 11 of this year. The project should take about 10 weeks barring any unforeseen delays.
The proposed detour route will be Plowden Mill Road, Bart Davis Road and Ike Bronson Road with an overall travel length of 2.34 miles.
