Sumter county residents will have a disaster recovery center opening on Monday, to help those hurt by Hurricane Matthew

Sumter, SC (WLTX)- It's been a month and a half since Hurricane Matthew, but some areas in the Midlands are just now seeing disaster recover centers opening up.

A center in Sumter will be open for three days starting Monday, November 21st from 9 am until 7pm at the Cherryvale Community Center near Shaw Airforce base.

Anyone who had damage from the hurricane can go there for help, even those who aren't Sumter residents.

If you haven't done so already, you can visit that center, call 800-621-3362, or go to DisasterAssistance.gov to apply for assistance.
