Sumter Shooting Suspect In Custody; Faces Murder, Weapons Charges

Sumter, SC (WLTX) A local man has turned himself in following a fatal shooting Sunday on Flamingo Road.

Kentwon Savon Thames-Daniels, 22,  turned himself in to the Sumter Law Enforcement Center earlier this evening without incident.

Police were able to identify Thames-Daniels as the suspect after David Green Bratton was found shot after 2 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Flamingo Road and later died at Palmetto Health Tuomey hospital.

Bratton, 39, and Thames Daniels were seen arguing before police responded to the shooting call.

Thames-Daniels is being charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is booked at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center. An investigation is continuing.
