Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Sunny, less humid weather on the way for the second half of the weekend.
A cold front crossed the area Saturday. Ahead of the front, there were a few showers and storms. High temperatures Saturday climbed into the lower 90s.
The front will help bring in some slightly cooler and less humid air. High temperatures Sunday will be in the upper 80s under sunny skies.
Dew point temperatures will be in the middle and upper 50s Sunday afternoon, so it will feel pleasant even with the heat. Dew point temperatures in the 50s are treat for this time of the year.
Monday morning low temperatures may fall into the middle 60s. Columbia's temperature has not dropped into the 60s since June 29. Our average low for this time of the year is 72 degrees. The record low for Monday is 58° set in 1936.
Low temperatures may remain slightly below normal through Thursday morning, but the humidity will slowly return. Sunny skies are expected through Tuesday.
A few clouds are possible Wednesday. Then the rain chance will slowly increase Thursday through Saturday. High temperatures will remain in the upper 80s and lower 90s.
