Suspect Shot Victim During Argument in Columbia

Columbia police have taken Louis Ravenell into custody.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -  Columbia police say they've arrested a suspect who they say shot a man he knew following an argument overnight.

Louis Ravenell, 30, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. 

Officers say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday at a location on Cherry Street, which is just off Millwood Avenue. Police believe the two got into an argument, and Ravenell pulled out a weapon and fired shots into the victim's lower body.

Police believe the two knew each other. 

The victim was found by officers, and they have him first aid until he could be taken to the hospital. At last check, he was in stable condition.
