Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) --Fried fish, bbq, and the Marching 101! It’s a good time in Orangeburg and the city is full of traditions for South Carolina State’s Homecoming.
This year’s celebration just so happened to be the university’s first home game.
Tailgaters came out in droves, with their bbq chicken, ribs, and hotdogs. Teddy Spence says it gets a little hot around the grill.
“Really it’s like a competition, cause they wanna come down here and see who has the best bbq,”
But it wouldn’t be home coming if they didn’t get the deep fryers sizzling to whip up some fresh fried fish.
Lucious Moultrie, owner of Palmetto Seafood has been whipping up dishes for 20 years.
“It’s the highlight of the year of the year for me, it’s a pleasant day, beautiful atmosphere and we just enjoy it,” Moultrie said.
When we asked him what goes into the secret recipe, Moultrie said, “I don’t think you’re ready to die yet.”
