Columbia, SC (WLTX)-- Brandee Quarles is the current teacher of the year at Batesburg Leesville Elementary School. After nearly, two decades in the classroom Quarles considers her students family. She grew up in the Batesburg Leesville community and she's spent the last 19 years as an educator at the elementary school she attended as a child. Quarles is a mother and she looks at each of her students like they are her own children.
She says that technology has changed the way she's teaching but the bottom line is that she looks forward to working with each of her students individually and helping them achieve their personal best.
