Newberry, SC (WLTX) - The sheriff in Greene County, Tennessee says he issued a BOLO or "be on the lookout" overnight for the four murder suspects Newberry County deputies are looking for right now.
"We received a call about 11 PM last night, of a possible shooting victim in our county," said Green County Sheriff Steve Burns. "When our officers arrived on the scene and began an investigation, we certainly recovered an individual that appeared to have died from a gunshot wound. (We) knew there was a vehicle that belonged at the residence that was missing, we were able to get the information from that vehicle."
Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol spotted that car in Newberry Thursday morning and stopped it.
The suspects in the vehicle fled on foot.
"The one suspect it appears right now might have done the shooting and not sure of the participation of the other three," Burns said. "They could have possibly been picked up after that, after the shooting, but certainly they were all together when they left Tennessee. There were weapons in the vehicle. They were all armed. You know, you have to treat them all the same."
Update at 10:15AM:
Green County Sheriff Steve Burns has identified the shooting victim is 36-year-old Robert Blanchard. Sheriff Burns tells News 19 that one of the suspects on the run is the son of the victim.
Newberry County Sheriff's deputies are still searching for the four suspects.
