Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says two people are dead after a fatal accident in Orangeburg Tuesday.
Investigators say a Dodge Challenger driven by Robinson Geromon was going North on US-21 at 3:35 p.m. and attempted to pass five or six cars in a no passing zone. That's when he hit a Chevy Impala head on.
Orangeburg residents Willa Gibbemeyer, 74, and John Gibbemeyer, 77, both died of blunt force injuries from the collision, according to a report. Willa was pronounced at Palmetto Health Richland, and John was pronounced at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg.
Geromon was also taken to Regional Hospital. His condition is unknown.
Troopers are investigating.
