Husband, Wife Dead In Possible Murder-Suicide

Richland County, SC (WLTX) - A husband and wife are dead in what the Richland County Sheriff's Department said they are investigating as a possible murder suicide.

According to the sheriff's department, deputies responded to a home on the 200 block of Morning Side Drive at approximately 6:15 Saturday morning after they were asked them to perform a welfare check on the woman living there.

Inside the home, deputies found the 46-year-old woman dead with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The sheriff's department said the woman's husband was also found dead, but in Orangeburg County.

According to the City of Orangeburg Department of Public Safety, deputies responded to the 100 block of Sprinkle Street at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday in reference to a possible suicide.

Captain Victor Crowe said officers found that a 38-year-old man had committed suicide.

The agency then called the Richland County Sheriff's Department to perform a welfare check on his wife after they were unable to get in contact with her.
