Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies say a woman who'd earlier been reported as missing has now been found dead.
Officers say on Saturday, November 19, there were called to the 200 block of Twin Gate Road after human remains were found there by two people who were clearing land there.
Deputies identified the remains using dental records as 51-year-old Candice Pierce. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says the woman died under suspicious circumstances.
Investigators say Pierce's friend reported the woman missing back on September 20 to Irmo Police. Irmo Police Chief Joe Nates says the woman had missed a medical appointment, which was unusual for her.
Deputies say they're asking for the public's help to determine what led up to her death.
