Man Gets Ticket for Eating Burger While Driving

Cobb County, GA (AP) - An Alabama man is due in court after a trip to the drive through left him with a sour taste in his mouth.

WSB-TV reports that Madison Turner ordered a hamburger at a McDonald's in Cobb County, Georgia. After taking some bites of the burger, that's when police stepped in.

"The officer explained to me that he observed me eating a burger for about 2 miles," Turner explained. "He said specifically three times you can't just drive down the road eating a hamburger."

The officer wrote turner up under Georgia's distracted driving law and under the comments section wrote "eating while driving." Turner says his fast food indulgence didn't warrant a ticket.

"Even though I was not exceeding the speed limit or driving erratically," Turner said. "But I didn't expect to be fined or punished."

Turner heads to court to dispute the less than savory ticket on February 3rd.
