Richland County, SC (WLTX) -- Richland Deputies arrested a man who they said cut his cousin after "going against his own family."
On Saturday before 9 p.m., Deputies said three men were watching a pay-per-view MMA fight. Two men got into a play fight. Deputies said the men were intoxicated.
The suspect, Jason Sparks, lost the match and began to argue with the other man. That's when deputies said the suspect's cousin tried to intervene and Sparks accused the victim of "going against his own family."
According to deputies, Sparks pulled out a pocket knife and cut his cousin in the upper body. Sparks and his girlfriend then took the victim to Providence Hospital. On the way there, the suspect assaulted the victim again. The victim passed out in the back seat.
Deputies arrested Sparks at the hospital.
