Irmo, SC (WLTX) -- Officials with the Irmo Fire Department say a house on Wychwood Road is a total loss after a fire engulfed the structure.
Fire Marshall Jeff Allen says the fire started around 6:40pm Thursday evening in the living room of the home.
According to officials, one person was living in the house but was not there at the time of the fire.
Fire Marshall Allen says one firefighter sustained minor injuries do to exertion while fighting the flames.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
