Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Alala marked "World Cancer Day" Mardi Gras style Tuesday night with face painting, creole cooking, and a live jazz band.
The event was held at the Hall at Senate's End.
News19's Andrea Mock works with the organization, which is a non profit that offers cancer patients here in the Midlands post surgical support, including from custom fittings for breast prosthetics to special compression garments for healing.
Organizers say Tuesday's event was about much more than the food and games on hand.
All proceeds from the from the gala stay right here in the Midlands to help cancer patients without health insurance afford the products they need after surgery and treatment.
