Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- People who love Gamecock baseball sure aren't fair weather fans. They came to cheer on the hometeam in wintry weather.
"I would come to all the games if I could, no matter what. Rain, snow, shine it doesn't matter," said Gamecock fan Amanda Lindler.
After cancelling yesterday's baseball game, Gamecock fans weren't going to let cool temperatures and strong winds get in their way of supporting the team.
I love baseball so I come to as many games as I can," said USC student Kate Appelbaum. "Even when it's freezing cold."
Most fans came in their warmest garnet and black attire.
"I have on long johns, jeans, turtle neck, this jacket," said Carla Lindler.
And some didn't have on quite so many layers, but still held in there for the Gamecocks.
"I'm pretty warm," said third year USC student Meghan Holst.
And while the cold didn't affect the energy of the game, some fans said it definitely affected the turnout. And no one knows that better than the scalpers.
"I just have a free ticket I'm trying to get rid of," said Robert Nelson. "No one's walked up to me, everybody's just going through, it's kind of expected when you got cold weather though."
Even though it felt like 35 during game one, the comeback victory put the liberty flames out and warmed Gamecock fans.
