COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Three pitchers combined Sunday for the first no hitter for South Carolina in nearly 37 years.

Starter Colby Homes went six innings with three strikeouts and a walk, Forrest Koumas went two innings with three walks and a strikeout and Josh Knab let no one on base as he picked up the final three outs as South Carolina beat Albany 14-1 in the first game of a doubleheader.

Albany got its only run in the fourth inning on a leadoff walk, a throwing error and a sacrifice fly. The Great Danes (0-4) led 1-0 going into the bottom of the fifth before the Gamecocks (4-1) scored nine.

Sunday was the first South Carolina no-hitter since March 1975 when Ray Lavigne led South Carolina to an 8-0 win over George Mason.
