Columbia, SC (WLTX) - There were golf balls coming down from the sky Friday morning.
One-thousand golf balls were dropped from the air at the Woodcreek Country Club for charity. The Ronald McDonald House sponsored this year's Golf Ball Drop, and one lucky ticket holder won a special prize
"This is our largest annual fundraiser," said Karen Marine, the executive director of The Golf Ball Drop. "We have 29 teams and all of these people support us throughout the year, not just today. It's the second day of a two event we've been hosting. And we just did a golf ball drop when we dropped a 1,000 golf balls onto the range and the one closet to the whole or in the whole won $1,000 and we had a lucky ball this morning so it's all great news out here this morning."
The tournament proceeds will benefit the programs and services for the Ronald McDonald House of Columbia.
