Washington, DC (WLTX) -- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued the following recall:

Certain 2012 Mercedes-Benz E350 & E550 coups, manufactured between April 2, 2012, and June 29, 2012.

This recall is due to an improperly stitched air bag on the passenger side, where it may not deploy as intended, thus reducing the protection it may provide & increasing risk of injury to occupants.

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners if their vehicle is included in this recall, and local dealerships will replace the right side curtain airbag in question.

The company is expected to begin in November of 2012, and owners may contact the Mercedes-Benz company at 800-367-6372.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
