COLUMBIA, SC (WLTX)--The City of Columbia has issued a boil water advisory after a six inch water main break.
The break could result in bacterial contamination of the water.
Water customers of Magnolia 42 apartments, Gregg Park Subdivision and the 4800-5300 blocks of Forest Drive are the areas that are effected and any residents near the effective areas who have lost water and/or water pressure.
Any residents who live in the these areas are advised to boil their water for at least one minute prior to drinking, cooking or brushing their teeth.
The City of Columbia water works is presently working to correct the problem.
