Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Starting Monday, the newly re-named "COMET" bus service is restoring significant midday and early-evening service.
The restored routes will run on weekdays and there will be Saturday service on major routes. Many of these routes were originally cut due to lack of funding last year.
COMET officials say the restored service is a result of new funding provided from the penny sales tax, which began being collected last Wednesday.
The COMET was formerly known as the CMRTA.
