Irmo, SC (WLTX) - Columbia and Irmo Fire officials responded to a fire at McMeekin Power Plant on Bush River Road Monday evening.
According to SCE&G, a mechanical breaker caused the fire at the Plant at Lake Murray Dam around 9 p.m.
Officials said one employee was taken to Augusta Burn Center with non life threatening injuries. They said the employee walked out of the plant, alert and talking.
SCE&G officials said a second employee was taken to local hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
Around 11 p.m., the fire had been put out.
SCE&G said none of their customers were affected.
