Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- The jury will continue deliberating Tuesday in the manslaughter trial involving a death following a Gamecock football game.
Curtis Simms faces a charge of involuntary manslaughter and breach of peace following a 2010 altercation after the USC Alabama game.
Prosecutors says Simms punched Allen Gasque, knocking him out before he fell and was run over and killed.
Both sides presented their closing arguments.
The defense told jurors there were discrepancies in the testimony given by eye witnesses.
They also said there were significant reasonable doubts and that Simms never killed anyone.
Prosecutors told the jury that witness testimony put Simms as the aggressor in the altercation, saying the fact that a reasonable person would expect bad things to happen in a similar situation.
The jury deliberated for about half an hour before being dismissed. They will return again Tuesday morning at to continue deliberations.
